Do you compete in powerlifting ? I have done but some time ago. I injured by back (disc) some time ago and that put an end to that. Then I got into strongman and did quite a few competitions over about a 10 or so year period. But now my back injury seems to manifest itself in hamstrings that are very prone of pulling/ tearing and I tend to do all by deadlifts and squats etc with high reps now. I'd love to do another strongman comp but finding the time to get a solid 10 weeks of proper training is hard these days!

45min Spin class this morning (OK, hardly the most macho of workouts I know, but I'm trying to get some cardio fitness back and rop a little weight at the moment). Went hell for leather, felt great for the rest of the morning but suspect that walking may be an issue tomorrow...

How is the weight loss going mate ? Down just over 5 stone now after a few flat spots-drops-flat spots this year. Can't each much less than I am - very restricted with high ratio of protein and smallish carb intake - mostly salad, a couple of pieces of fruit a day, porridge oats and ryvitas - though might cut back there again and go 'keto' for a few short periods if I keep stalling. But on leave soon so will get back to two sessions a day again which shifted 1 1/2 stone last summer. Now look totally different, esp in clothes (had to make a 6th hole on the belt of the trousers that I wore on the 1st or, tightly, 2nd, last autumn and ready for a 7th really)and none of my family of friends can guess my weight, usually underestimating by about 4 stone! Some sound surprised when I say I haven't finished, let alone that I'm only half way!

I am shifting it now but using my dodgy ankle as motivation, I have been between 14.7 and 14.12 for the last 2 years but have now got down to 13.11. Aiming for between 13 and 13.7 as a permanent weight

Yeah well done on the weight loss. It can be hard, I know. I have sort of stuck to a healthy diet but now have sort of stalled. So need to go total strict mon-fri. Perhaps cut out carbs, I don't like or eat rice (save for rice puddings which are rare) or pasta. I do like spuds and chips but only have them on a Friday. So bread is the killer. It's a fav of mine, jam and bread for brekky. Looking at wraps or cutting it out completely mon-fri. Always wanted a go at Fran and Isabel, a challenge is the way to get it done! todayPress-ups, Heaves, Dips, Pistols on a box, Hypers-Extensions. edit. I confused Grace for Fran.

@Halb
Bread has always been my weak spot too, used to eat 8-10 slices per day !
I have changed to 4x weetabix for breakfast and just 1-2 slices of bread at lunch, the big change for me is dropping sugary snacks and drinks. Just drinking water only.

Try reducing the carbs a bit every day/week eg eat 25% less than you would normally. It's a lot easier to manage and it gives you time to think about and get used to alternative ideas.

Cheers - a typical day will be breakfast - 2 x small bananas and protein shake (usually water or sometimes 1/3 semi skimmed milk) if at work, or porridge (c.350cals) if at home lunch - protein source, bars, shake or whatever depending on stock and location (and finances!) evening meal - protein shake after training, maybe with an apple or small banana and then either Lentil soup, salad with 300c of low fat cheese or Ryvitas and Philly cheese spread with a little no extra sugar (well, except fruit juice!) jam. Tonight was 3 of these but have dropped from 5 or 6 when I converted to this, usually have 4. then a protein shake or bar later, or if I'm starving, or maybe an apple or something if desperate. This has been the pattern for months and I average around 1400 to 1600c. Weekends had been worse as I tend to have kittle time and sometimes substituted or snack on cereal bars etc. bought for the kids but have tried harder lately. I now never eat bread, potatoes, packaged foods/processed meals and don't drink. Though yesterday I went out with friends and had the first 'proper' hot meal (inc. chips) since 13th May!

I have cut it out from meals, but I find it so useful for brekky. I dropped sugary snacks from the week a while ago, it's amazing what weight goes with them (or rather it isn't once you read up on it. ) Still have the juice, but my current carton will be the last one. A sip of orange juice is a nice tangy shock to the mouth first thing in the morning. Lost_BMW said: Panorama on sports products just started - looks like a slagging for some products! Watching now.

You can call me Miss. from here on out... No real training today, but I did do some rowing, some fun stuff with a med ball, DB curls, OHP for time, chin hold for time and squat against a wall for time. Plus calf raises and heel drops.
